Why Africa, Why?

Penny Hlakula

Children of Africa,
My beautiful Nation.
Where did it all go wrong?
What went wrong?
But why are things this way?
Why is our home ending this way?
Wonderful Africans, we need to come together and be as one.
We need to stand up and protect our Motherland.

Why are there so many diseases?
Why is there so much violence and hatred?
Why is it that people are dying so much?
But where are you my Africans?
When a brother kills his own brother, when a mother kills her own child, when a leader is
leading a nation to its grave, when all that needs to be done is ignored.
Where are we going with this? Tell me my beautiful people
When your home is ending this way,
What are our leaders doing to prevent all of this?
Wonderful Africans, we need to come together and be as one.
We need to stand up and protect our Motherland.

But why my beautiful Africans?
What happened to tradition, culture and the wonderful ways of our forefathers?
How can they die away, when the people are still there?
Mother Africa is crying, she is all out of tears.
Wonderful Africans, we need to come together and be as one.
We need to stand up and protect our Motherland.

Oh, my beautiful Africans, this is not the way to go!
The nation should not suffer while you are still here.
The land should not die with you here.
Ask for guidance from the forefathers.
For they know how we can go on from here
Wonderful Africans, we need to come together and be as one.
We need to stand up and protect our Motherland.
