The Cape Town Rock Festival starts at 10:00 and Shane Kasselman, the organizer of the event, says that music lovers can look forward to 14 hours of entertainment with more than 14 South African bands. The Festival is now open to all ages.

He adds that the bands will play during the full course of the day with minimal breaks as they change sets: "It's going to be an awesome relay of local Rock. The godfather of South African Rock, Barney Simon, has accepted the challenge of being the MC for the day. The Rock Festivals a fantastic opportunity for Capetonians and visitors to the city to soak in all their favorite local music in one sitting. There will be a huge food tent, a chill tent and beer on tap, allowing music fans to spend a full day in the company of their favorite music."

Some of the proceedings from the Rock Festival will be donated to Hospice, a charity concerned with frail care of the elderly and the terminally ill. "We'll also host a special auction, and the funds raised from that will be donated to a charity concerned with the disabled.
